Here goes another review of iOS 9 official, the latest OS released by Apple and this time the review is on iPhone. Our previous video showed the performance of iOS 9 on iPhone 4S, the predecessor to iPhone 5, so let’s check out the difference.
Since the iPhone 5 is around 3 times faster in terms of CPU, the performance of iOS 9 official on the device is much faster than on iPhone 4S. Lag issues are quite low on this device. But a slight lagging was seen in some instances like returning to the home screen from an opened application.
The iPhone 5 with iOS 9 offers a smooth browsing experience but it still can be better in terms of scrolling speed. When an internet speed test was conducted, it was observed that the download speed was normal as expected but performed better in upload speed. Multitasking screen also offers a smooth scrolling experience.
A low power mood is available in the battery settings of this new OS to save the battery in times of need. Another great feature introduced by Apple for iOS 9 is the Apple music which can be obtained now as a 3 months free trial. Blocking ads is also possible in Safari with iOS 9 but the content blocker apps necessary for the feature doesn’t seem to be compatible with the iPhone 5.
The lock screen feature hasn’t changed from the previous and has a quick access icon for accessing the camera. Siri is also improved to be faster and far more personalized in iOS 9. But when tested, we experienced certain errors with Siri on iPhone 5 iOS 9.
The overall performance of iPhone 5 iOS 9 is good and the lagging was observed to be at a minimum level.
